Thursday, May 28, 2026 · Dan Abreu · CIBC AI security presentation needed before tomorrow’s weekly · TD Engineering workshop agenda due · Empower vPC licensing bug in play today
Schedule
Today — Thursday, May 28
TentativeDTCC – NetBrain Connect
6:30 – 7:30 AM ET · Zoom · Org: Krishna Makani · Krishna, Ravi Kumar (DTCC), Dan, Shiladitya Sen, sperdomo@highpoint.com
Regular weekly connect. Ravi was late this morning due to a PC reboot but did reconnect — the call likely already happened or is underway. Context: DTCC MongoDB certificate expired (support case open); Bill Claffey separately inquired about NetBrain + Venafi integration yesterday.
TentativeGTM Enablement Office Hours — Drop In Anytime!
9:00 – 10:00 AM ET · Zoom · Org: Michael Gannon · All Sales (James Esposito, Garrett Linnan, allsales)
Drop-in office hours. Part of new alternating Tue/Thu schedule starting next week. Optional attendance — skip if 1:1 with Pasqualoni prep is needed.
1:1 with Michael Pasqualoni
10:00 – 10:30 AM ET · Zoom · Org: Michael Pasqualoni · Dan + Michael (Pasqualoni is in Las Vegas at Cisco Live)
Bring: Empower quote status ($400,621 approved, Armando’s $45K available budget vs. full gap — discuss incentive to close by June end); DTCC training scheduling with Bob Gambardella (choose from Christine’s slots: Mon 6/1 4pm, Tue 6/2 9am or 4pm, Wed 6/3 4pm); MSCI escalation response plan. Pasqualoni said Tue 6/2 at 9am is probably best for the Bob meeting.
12:00 – 1:00 PM ET · Microsoft Teams · Org: Jeff Notaro · Dan, Suneet, Mike Christopherson (NB); Suraj Pradhan, Mario Rivas, Paul Gann, Bryan Roberson, Tewodros Eshete, Ian Ballantyne, Armando Euceda (Empower)
Goal: validate end-to-end incident response workflow. Heads up: Suneet flagged a live vPC licensing discrepancy this morning — DB count differs from UI count; he’s working with Dev to resolve before this call. Be ready to address if Armando raises it. The $400K quote has been sent; Armando wants to close the full AWS West + Meraki gap and take it to the CIO.
TentativeNetBrain x IGM — Bi-Weekly Cadence
2:00 – 3:00 PM ET · Microsoft Teams · Org: Michael Edobor · Full IGM Financial team (Karandeep Singh, Dino Pereira, Amandip Kainth, and others)

NetBrain Orientation: Licensing Model
1:00 – 1:30 PM ET · Microsoft Teams · Org: Olivia Dantona · Olivia Dantona, James Esposito, Dan, Luvlynn Lee, Sean Dolan
Internal orientation session on the NetBrain licensing model. Good timing given the active Empower licensing conversation.
From: Vadim Sclear (CIBC) · Wed May 27, 1:49 PM ET · Unread · To: Laky Singh; CC: Dan, Ian, Appachu, Reza, Terry, George
CIBC will not enable AI without a security briefing first. Vadim’s specific questions: (1) Does data leave CIBC premises — who receives it? (2) Is data stored, how protected, retention policy? (3) How is OpenAI integration implemented? (4) What data goes to OpenAI? (5) What guardrails exist? (6) What is the cost of AI integration? (7) Legal agreements / data processing clauses? Thomas Yeh already answered the compute question (no additional servers needed). Dan and Ian own cost and legal. This needs a response before or during tomorrow’s CIBC weekly.
ActionRE: CIBC – NetBrain Weekly Meeting — Jim Dalby Server Compute Question
From: Jim Dalby (CIBC) · Wed May 27, 3:46 PM ET · Unread · RE thread
Jim asked about compute requirements for the 6 on-site servers if AI is enabled. Thomas Yeh already replied: no additional compute required for AI. Jim’s follow-up (also unread) tagged Dan/Ian for cost and legal questions. Coordinate with Ian on a comprehensive AI enablement response for the CIBC thread before tomorrow.
ActionRE: NetBrain Next Steps at TD — Engineering and Operations Workshops (Ermal Gjylameti)
From: Ermal Gjylameti (TD Bank) → Dan · Wed May 27, 3:05 PM ET · CC: Irwin Chan, David Kociancic, Ruby Agar, Shelley Servos, Oleg Khaev, Bindu Joshi
Ermal agrees: separate Ops and Engineering/build sessions is the right approach. His ask: “Can you please provide an agenda with the content as well as how much time the session will be for engineering/build folks?” Irwin Chan had previously suggested Danny Deng, Karan Patel (NB admins), and a Deployment Network Engineer for the Engineering session. Note: Irwin is OOO May 31–June 4. Draft and send the Engineering workshop agenda to unblock date-setting.
ActionNetBrain Training and User Seats Needed (Robert Romanelli, DTCC)
From: rromanelli@dtcc.com → Michael Pasqualoni, Dan · Wed May 27, 3:03 PM ET · Zoom invite included
Robert Romanelli (DTCC) is requesting a meeting to discuss NetBrain training and user seat needs. Christine Monforti-Magnante (exec assistant to Rob Gambardella and Mike Pelliccia) provided Bob’s availability: Mon 6/1 4pm, Tue 6/2 9am or 4pm, Wed 6/3 4pm. The DTCC Lunch & Learn last week had ~100 attendees — Bill Claffey demoed, Bob was vocal and supportive. Confirm a time with Christine today. Dan and Pasqualoni discussed Tue 6/2 9am as the likely pick; Pasqualoni will be at Cisco Live but can join from his room.
From: wclaffey@dtcc.com → support@netbraintech.com · Wed May 27, 11:55 AM ET · CC: Dan, Ian
Bill Claffey asked whether NetBrain can integrate with Venafi (certificate management platform) — DTCC is evaluating this. The question went to support but Dan and Ian are CC’d. Likely relates to the DTCC MongoDB certificate expired case. Respond or route to the right technical resource to confirm integration feasibility.
FYI
FYIToday Was a Moment — NSP: The Journey to Agentic NetOps Starts Now (Michael Gannon)
From: Michael Gannon → NetBrainers · Wed May 27, 5:05 PM ET
Post-NSP Special Meeting reflection. Gannon expressed genuine thanks to Bernadette Nixon, Scott Fitzgerald, Willy Fox, Emily Doolittle, Val DiMartino, and George Logarakis. The Agentic NetOps messaging is officially launched. Use the new positioning in customer conversations going forward.
From: michael.pasqualoni@netbraintech.com → Dan · Wed May 27, 2:57 PM ET
Pasqualoni approved the corrected Empower Retirement / License Expansion 2026 quote (LWAP quantity fixed from 430 to 440). Earlier version at $398,832.50 also approved. Quote has been sent to Armando. Armando’s available budget is ~$45K against this figure — Pasqualoni flagged the deal would need an incentive or CIO approval to close in June. Follow up with Armando after he has reviewed the quote.
FYIRE: Netbrain Training Attendee List — CIBC June 15 Confirmed
From: Chiragkumar Barot (CIBC) → Dan, Alina Radulescu, Thomas Yeh, Ian Ballantyne, Jim Dalby · Wed May 27, 10:20 AM ET

FYIRE: Inquiry — VP of Product Ontario (Rory Duyon)
From: Rory Duyon (NetBrain) → Dan · Wed May 27, 11:07 PM ET
Rory confirmed he can do a screen for Dan’s referral for the VP of Product – Ontario role. He noted Song is primarily working with an agency on the search. No urgent action; Rory will follow up with the candidate.
Teams DM · Nicole said “Thank you!” at 8:55 PM ET May 27 after Dan promised to investigate “this afternoon”
Dan told Nicole there is “definitely some confusion here” on the MSCI K8s license (license 30323516 / universal pool not showing K8s nodes on QA instance) and would investigate. Nicole’s “thank you” suggests she is waiting. Confirm resolution status and reply to Nicole or escalate to support before the MSCI escalation thread compounds further.
Empower vPC Licensing Discrepancy — Suneet Working with Dev
Teams DM with Suneet · Active as of yesterday afternoon
Suneet found the vPC count in the DB does not match what the UI shows. He was continuing to work with the Dev team. Check with Suneet before today’s 12 PM Empower IR meeting to get the current status — Armando may raise the license accuracy issue.
Action Items
UrgentCIBC AI Enablement — Prepare Security Briefing Response for Tomorrow’s Weekly
Vadim Sclear (CIBC) will not proceed with AI enablement without answers on data residency, OpenAI data flow, guardrails, cost, and legal agreements. Coordinate with Ian Ballantyne and/or the product/legal team to assemble answers. Thomas Yeh already confirmed no additional compute is needed. Respond to the CIBC thread before or during the 9 AM Friday weekly.
ActionSchedule DTCC Training Meeting with Bob Gambardella — Reply to Christine Monforti
Christine Monforti-Magnante has Bob’s availability: Mon 6/1 at 4pm, Tue 6/2 at 9am or 4pm, Wed 6/3 at 4pm. Pasqualoni and Dan discussed Tue 6/2 at 9am as the best slot. Pasqualoni is at Cisco Live but can join from his hotel room. Reply to Christine today to lock the time.
ActionSend TD Engineering Workshop Agenda to Ermal Gjylameti
Ermal agreed to separate Engineering and Ops sessions and is waiting on an agenda and duration estimate for the Engineering/build workshop before he can commit to dates. Suggested attendees per Irwin Chan: Danny Deng, Karan Patel (NB admins), a Deployment Network Engineer, possibly Oleg Khaev. Irwin is OOO May 31–June 4 — aim to get this in before the end of today.
ActionRespond to DTCC Venafi Integration Inquiry (Bill Claffey)
Bill Claffey asked support (CC’d Dan and Ian) whether NetBrain can integrate with Venafi for certificate management. Route to a technical resource or confirm feasibility and reply to Bill. This may be related to the DTCC MongoDB certificate expiry issue also open today.
ActionEmpower Follow-Up After Quote Delivery — Incentive to Close June
The $400,621 quote has been sent to Armando Euceda. Armando’s available budget is ~$45K; the full gap includes AWS West + Meraki. Pasqualoni asked if an incentive is needed to close in June (target: $200K). After today’s Empower IR call, follow up with Armando to ask how to fast-track and understand any discount authority needed to get the deal done by June end.
ActionMSCI Escalation — Coordinate Response with Ravish Dangi
Prasad Umredkar (MSCI) sent a high-importance escalation reply (May 27) and Kalam Shaikh has formally requested a new CSM for the MSCI account. Ravish Dangi’s internal MSCI AI discussion meeting was cancelled. Coordinate with Ravish on the path forward — both R12.3 Production Validation and AI Business Justification are required (not alternatives, per Demetrio Leon Guerrero). Send a clear response to MSCI with resolution timeline.
ActionConfirm CIBC / Dream Team Conflict for Tomorrow — Plan Coverage
CIBC Weekly (9–10 AM ET) and Dream Team Forecast (9–10 AM ET) conflict on Friday. Given CIBC has an active AI enablement agenda, it may be higher priority. Determine who covers the Dream Team call or whether Pasqualoni is joining from Cisco Live anyway.
TomorrowDream Team Forecast & CIBC Weekly — Q2 Pipeline Pressure
Friday is Q2 pipeline cleanup day per Pasqualoni’s weekly agenda. Come prepared with Empower deal status, DTCC training opportunity size, MSCI account situation, and any other June close items. Bring the Empower incentive question.
